This story began about fifty eight years ago in a small Ohio town where the real fella behind the mask was born and grew up. He claims to be from Snodgrass Arkansas but of course no one can find that on any map because it is located on the back roads of Cousin Jaybob's mind.
His mom and dad were from the back woods of the state right below Ohio, won't mention any names now will we. Any way they grew up down yonder and they had big families. Lots of kin and some of them a little short of 2 quarts if ya know what I mean. Thanks to these hill country folks Ole Jaybob came up with yarn after yarn, all about them. Now he is a real good story teller somewhere between a reading Grandpa and Mark Twain.
Cousin Jaybob is one of the last dress up comics left on this planet and it is a darn shame that they are so few and far between. When kids use to go to the Grand Ole Opry they would see the great dress up comedians like Minnie Pearl, Grandpa Jones, Stingbean an a host of others. Today there are none on the Opry Stage, its all went new country and forgot about the legends that made it what it is today. Heck most of the older Opry Artist can't get on the show themselves, talk about murder on Music Row what about death at the Opry.
Cousin Jaybob learnt his craft as a side man working along side some of the greats mentioned above, he was with Lonzo and Oscar back in their hay day, and with Homer & Jethro but now who even knows who they were. Darn shame the heritage of country music has been so lost in the hustle and bustle of modern day America.
Jaybob will keep you in stitches that's for sure. He is a real funny man and his show is clean enough for the youngest of kids. He has worked all across the United States and in the United Kingdom. This was supposed to be a biography well it was supposed to be. Got a little side tracked tooting my old friends horn. He is what he is and there anit no more to say, except don't miss his shows and if you are looking for a great comedian for your event or club he's one of the best.
